Oldmeadow Memorial
The Man from Ironbark

The “Oldmeadow Memorial” features characters
from popular Australian Children’s Books.
It was designed and realised by Tessa Wallis,
in recognition of the imagination and achievements
of Joyce and Court Oldmeadow.
It is currently installed at the entrance of
the Latrobe Reading Room
at the State Library of Victoria.
The book entitled the “Man from Ironbark”,
a poem by Banjo Paterson, illustrated by Quentin Hole
was the first book launched at “Dromkeen”.
The sculpture of “The Man from Ironbark” by Tessa Wallis
was commissioned for the Centenary of Federation.
